Nivalis Nights Farming: Greenhouse, Seeds & Plants

Growing your own ingredients is how players turn a noodle bar from break-even into steady profit. A seed costs a few lims; the harvest is worth ten portions.

Unlocking the greenhouse

Clem sends you down this path; Reddit players place her at the Docks. Players meet her on day two or three. Her quest opens your first greenhouse. The “First Harvest” achievement (plant and harvest something in the greenhouse) is held by 38% of players, so most get here in the first sessions.

Modules

The greenhouse holds modules, and different modules grow different things:

ModuleGrowsNotes
Grow boxVegetables, grains, fruitMost common; one per crop you use
Herb boxHerbsNeeds a higher farming level
PrinterMeatFeed it resin pellets (beef resin pellets and so on) from the seed vendor
ProcessorDairy
Hydro tankFish and seafoodNeeds a higher farming level

Modules come in three classes. C is the slowest and the one you can use at the start. B and A are faster and need more farming skill; one player reports levels 7 and 14. Hover over a module at the vendor to see what it can grow.

Where to buy modules: the hardware vendor, about 80 to 150 lims for low-tier modules; seeds from the seed vendor next to the Docks greenhouse cost almost nothing. Players who spent hours looking for farming systems found them there, not at the seed seller. One player recommends the hardware vendor at the port for meat printers.

One seed in, ten out

Each module takes one seed and gives ten units of that product per harvest, at least at the start. Sometimes you get a seed back to replant; sometimes you get two or three. Higher greenhouse upgrades and farming skill raise the yield.

Urchins are a favourite among players who mass-produce for profit: you plant urchins, not seeds, so a batch of ten is ten urchins, and the resale price is good. One Russian-language guide puts numbers on it: urchins sell for about 7 lims each, a hydroponic module gives at least 10 a day, and eight C-modules (about 1,200 to 1,300 lims) make at least 560 lims a day.

Rotten food goes in the composter

Spoiled produce can go in a composter, sold by a second vendor inside the seed shop at the Docks. Or sell it to any vendor for 0 lims.

Automatic Harvester: not in yet

The Automatic Harvester upgrade is listed but does nothing at the moment. Players quote a developer reply on Discord: prepared but not yet implemented. Harvest by hand for now.

Greenhouse settings

The greenhouse console sets temperature, humidity and light, and the developers’ March 2025 devlog says these change how fast crops grow. Aim for green on each condition; yellow is still fine.

Where to get seeds and plants

  • The seed vendor. Sells seeds and resin pellets.
  • Trash bags on top of bins in every district. Free seeds and ingredients from your first walk around. Players are split on whether bags refill.
  • Seed gacha machines in Central Canyon. 2 lims for a random seed. Some resell for more than 2, and some are worth planting.
  • Decorative plants for venues and apartments (the “add a plant” and “buy plant” searches) are furniture, not crops. They come from furniture vendors, not the seed seller.

More greenhouses

You can rent more. The one players rave about is at Skyhigh Gardens, to the right after you step off the taxi from the Space Port, for 10 lims a day. It is spacious, and a hardware vendor stands right outside. Others rent greenhouses in the Industrial District.

A common late-game setup is one greenhouse per food group (vegetables in one, meat printers in another) near each venue.

Time your harvests for night

One player’s routine: set crops to finish around night time, harvest and replant after your venues close (time stops during curfew), and deliver to your venues in the morning. Your manager then has less to buy, which is the best fix for a manager who spends too much.
