Nivalis Nights Map: All 18 Districts and How to Unlock Them
Nivalis is the same vertical city as ION LANDS’ earlier game Cloudpunk, stretching from the sea to the clouds. In Nivalis Nights you can walk certain districts freely; the rest of the skyline is background. The developers’ FAQ is clear that it is not a fully open world.
The map is a list, not a minimap
The map (taxi screen) is a location map: it shows districts and which one a quest wants, not streets. There is no minimap. Inside a district you navigate by landmarks and the compass at the top of the screen, which points to quest targets and points of interest. Players’ advice: learn your routes; it gets easier fast.
How districts unlock
Some districts on the map say “Need more achievement points to unlock this location.” Achievement points come from the small stuff: visiting places, eating out, catching new fish, finding graffiti, menu cards and postcards. If you are stuck, do a round of those. The achievements page lists them.

Getting around
- Taxis (HOVA taxis) link the districts. Players report the first rides costing them nothing; others say fast travel saves taxi money, so fares exist later.
- Trains run from the Metro Hub on a timetable, free of charge. The Space Port train leaves from below the stairs, underground. Players have trouble finding the Helix Monumental train; no one has posted a clear route yet.
- Your boat reaches the water districts: the Docks, the Stacks, Seaside Boardwalk, Industrial District, Mountain Town, the Oil Rig and Calypso Island. It needs fuel.
- Fast travel from the map works for any district you have already reached by taxi, train or boat.
How to get to the Docks
Take a taxi to the Docks once it appears on the map; it is one of the first districts the story opens. Your boat waits at the pier.
How to get to the Oil Rig
Take your boat from the Docks and head straight out to open sea; park under the platform. The first trip has to be by boat; after that it is on fast travel. Boat quests there come from Salty Pete or another robot nearby, per Reddit players.
Prices change by district
Players report vendor markups by district: Meridian Market about 7% over base, Lowtown about 2% under, the Sewers about 4% under. Daily shortages and surpluses move prices on top of that. See how to make money.
Thanks. Mind the cameras on the way home.
